Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Cevdet Yılmaz arrived in Kazakhstan on a working visit.
Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz held bilateral talks and a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
In a restricted format meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the current level of trade and economic cooperation and discussed measures to unlock the potential of bilateral cooperation to further increase trade turnover. Particular attention was paid to preparations for the state visit of the Turkish President to Kazakhstan.
The meeting addressed a wide range of issues in trade, investment, industry, transport and logistics, energy, digitalization and artificial intelligence, and agriculture.
It was reported that trade turnover in the agro-industrial complex increased by more than 25% last year, reaching $360 million. Authorized bodies and businesses from Kazakhstan and Turkey have established an exchange of experience in agricultural technology and insurance.
The meeting participants emphasized the importance of diversifying trade by expanding the export portfolio and launching new joint ventures for high-value-added products.
“In order to further increase Kazakhstan’s exports of wheat, lentils, feed crops, and oilseeds, the need for joint work in the areas of veterinary and phytosanitary science was emphasized,” Olzhas Bektenov emphasized.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
