Kazakhstan has significantly expanded the geography of grain exports
Exports of new crop grain and flour are showing positive dynamics, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reports.
From September 2024 to July 2025, 12.4 million tons of grain and flour in grain equivalent were exported. This is 34% higher than for the same period in 2023-2024, when it was 9.3 million tons.
After a five-year break, Kazakhstani grain shippers resumed deliveries to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. The export of durum wheat to Italy has increased significantly, the department noted.
Buyers from the UAE, Vietnam and North African countries are showing active interest in Kazakhstani products. Only through the national grain operator JSC NC Food Contract Corporation, about 60 thousand tons of wheat were sent to Morocco. And 15 thousand tons to Vietnam.
The supplies of grain and flour of the new harvest also increased significantly:
to Uzbekistan by 28.2% – from 3,384 thousand tons to 4,338 thousand tons;
to Tajikistan by 39.2% – from 1,039 thousand tons to 1,446 thousand tons;
to Kyrgyzstan by 2.5 times, from 156 thousand tons to 398 thousand tons;
to Iran by 17.3 times, from 56 thousand to 974 thousand tons;
to Azerbaijan by 120 times – from 6 thousand tons to 723 thousand tons.
The key achievement of the 2024-2025 season was the expansion of the geography of grain exports due to entry into new markets. Kazakhstan began deliveries to some European countries that were not previously included in the list of grain importers: Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Norway and Great Britain.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
