Jordan purchases 60 thsd tons of barley in tender
Jordan’s state grain buyer has purchased around 60,000 metric tons of feed barley in an international tender held on June 17. According to European traders, the winning offer was submitted by Olam at an estimated price of $252 per ton, including cost and freight (C&F) delivery terms.
The barley is scheduled for shipment during the first half of September 2026. The tender sought cargoes of 50,000 to 60,000 tons for delivery in several possible shipment windows between September and October, with the successful offer covering the early September period.
Several major global grain traders also participated in the tender. CHS offered barley at $255.68 per ton, Cofco at $257.50 per ton, and Ameropa at $259.95 per ton, while offers from Bunge and Solaris exceeded $264 per ton. The purchase highlights Jordan’s continued demand for imported feed grains and its active presence in the international grain market.
