Jordan purchased 50,000 tons of feed barley in an international tender held on June 3. The winner was Bunge, which offered supplies at a price of $255.75/ton on C&F terms. The shipment of the purchased batch is scheduled for the first half of August.

The tender provided for the purchase of up to 120,000 tons of barley of any origin. In addition to the winner, a number of large international traders submitted their price offers, including Cargill, Olam, Cofco, Ameropa, Dreyfus, Agrocorp, Buildcom and Solaris. The competitors’ offers were higher than the price offered by Bunge.

Jordan’s demand for feed grain remains stable against the background of the need to provide feed for livestock. The country regularly holds international tenders to replenish state grain stocks and diversify supply sources.

At the same time, the Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade announced a new tender for the purchase of another 120,000 tons of feed barley of any origin. The submission of price offers will continue until June 10, and the grain should be delivered during August and September.
