Jordan issues tender to purchase 120,000 tons of wheat
The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply issued a tender to purchase 100,000 tons or 120,000 tons of wheat as part of its policy of maintaining a strategic stock of wheat.
According to the copy of the tender that Ammon New Agency reviewed, the terms and specifications of the tender included that the wheat be free of live mites and insects with the naked eye, and that it be free of visible mold.
Consideration must be given to fumigating the shipment at the loading port so that it is completely free of live insects before unloading at the port of arrival before releasing it, provided that the goods at the port of arrival are completely free of insect infestation and it is the responsibility of the contractor until unloading is completed and suitability for human consumption appears, according to the tender.
“If it is found that there is an insect infestation on the ship, upon the arrival of the goods, they will be sterilized according to the requirements of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the contractor will bear all expenses and damages, including conflicts, which are that the consignments must be free of insects and proof that the wheat consignment has been fumigated in the origin country and attach a certificate to that effect,” the Ministry stated in the tender.
If, during the apparent sensory examination, the presence of insects appears after their arrival in the importing country, they are fumigated by a company approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, and they are examined by the approved agricultural center after the fumigation period has expired, and the inspection and fumigation takes place at sea on wheat consignments.
The Ministry of Industry indicated on its website that the last date for accepting offers is 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024, calling on those wishing to participate to obtain a copy of the tender for JD650 non-refundable.
