Jordan cancels barley tender and issues new 120 thsd tons purchase
On February 25, Jordan canceled a previously announced international tender to purchase feed barley, traders said. The tender had sought to buy 120,000 metric tons of grain, but no purchase was made.
Following the cancellation, the state grain buyer promptly issued a new tender for the same volume — up to 120,000 metric tons of barley. The deadline for submission of price offers has been set for March 4.
Shipment under the new tender is expected for June–July. Market participants note that the decision to reissue the tender may indicate dissatisfaction with the price levels or other commercial terms offered in the previous round.
