Jordan cancels barley tender and issues a new one
Jordan has canceled its international tender to purchase up to 120,000 tons of feed barley held on July 22 and simultaneously issued a new tender. The deadline for submitting offers is August 5, with shipment required during the second half of September and October.
According to traders, only two trading companies — Solaris and Bunge — participated in the canceled tender. The same companies were also the only participants in Jordan’s separate tender to purchase 120,000 tons of wheat held a day earlier. No barley purchase has been reported.
The new tender seeks up to 120,000 tons of feed barley in consignments of 50,000–60,000 tons. Shipments are scheduled for the second half of September as well as the first and second halves of October, in line with Jordan’s regular procurement program to secure imported feed grain supplies.
