Jordan announces tender to purchase 120 thsd tons of wheat
Jordan’s state grain purchaser has announced an international tender to buy up to 120,000 tons of milling wheat from optional origins, European traders reported on Wednesday. The deadline for submitting price offers is set for January 20.
Traders had been expecting a new announcement after Jordan made no purchases in its previous tender for 120,000 tons of wheat. Deliveries under the new tender are planned in batches of 60,000 tons for the periods of March 1–15, March 16–31, April 1–15, and April 16–30, similar to the previous tender.
In addition, Jordan has issued a separate tender to purchase 120,000 tons of feed barley, which closes on Wednesday. Such tenders are part of the country’s regular practice to secure domestic supplies of grains and feed crops.
