Japan reopens market to Argentine beef after 20 years
Japan has reopened its market to Argentine beef after a 20-year break, Argentina’s Economy Minister Luis Caputo said on September 30.
The two countries reached an agreement after establishing sanitary requirements for imports. Shipments will be allowed from Argentine zones that are free of foot-and-mouth disease and where vaccination is used.
The reopening of the Japanese market gives Argentine beef exporters an additional sales channel in Asia and broadens their export opportunities after two decades of restricted access.
