Iraq to store wheat supplies to secure against economic crisis
Iraq’s Ministry of Trade said on Saturday (May 7) the ministry will store three million tons of wheat to protect the country from economic crisis.
The ministry said because of the decline in wheat production in Iraq, a great deal of wheat has been imported from Germany and Australia.
It also said that the decision to store wheat will save the country in case of a global economic crisis.
The ministry assured the public there is enough wheat and 300,000 tons have been received from Iraqi farmers so far in 2022.
