Iraq could harvest more than 7 million tons of wheat this year

According to forecasts of the Ministry of Agriculture of Iraq, in 2024, the harvest of wheat in the country may exceed 7 million tons, as reported by Reuters.
It is noted that at the moment local farmers have already purchased 1.5 million tons of grain of the new harvest for state reserves.
The Ministry of Agriculture estimates that Iraq needs 4.5 to 5 million tons of wheat annually to meet domestic demand.
