Indonesia expects record rice harvest

From January to April 2025, the country’s rice production may reach 13.95 million tons, up 25.99% year-on-year. This is reported by Xinhua.
Indonesia’s statistics office estimated that the rice harvest will reach 12.71 million tons of rice in February-April 2025.
Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, head of Indonesia’s Central Statistical Office, said the figure will be the highest in the past seven years.
In addition, in January 2025, the production of unmilled rice was 2.16 million tons, a 42.32% increase from 1.52 million tons in the same period in 2024.
According to projections, the total production of unmilled rice in January-April 2025 could reach 24.22 million tons.
Vidyasanthi emphasized that the actual figures could change depending on climatic conditions.
