India topped the ranking of the biggest importers of Russian sunflower oil
Sunflower oil exports in the first half of MY 2019/20 totaled a record (+51% from last year), UkrAgroConsult reports.
This season, India boosted purchases to 300 KMT (from 14 KMT a year earlier) and thereby replaced China as the largest importer – Chinese buyers now hold second position on the ranking.
MY 2019/20 witnessed the opening of seven African markets (Uganda, Senegal, Djibouti, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Malawi etc.) and two Asian ones (Laos and Sri Lanka).
A rise in export shipments is observed to China (+295%), Turkey (+34%), Malaysia (+713%).
A slowdown in exports is registered for Iran (-90%), Turkmenistan (-42%), Kyrgyzstan (-16%).
