India to boost rapeseed and mustard production
In MY 2021/22, Indian production of rapeseed and mustard will hit a record high of over 10 MMT (+16% from MY 2020/21, when their output amounted to 8.6 MMT). According to India’s Ag Ministry, the plantings increased to 7.18 Ml ha (+17% from MY 2020/21).
The increase in the planted area resulted from favorable weather and record high oilseed prices. Growth in oilseed production may reduce dependence on vegetable oil imports, UkrAgroConsult reports.
