India says its 2024 wheat procurement exceeds last year’s

India’s wheat purchases from farmers in the current season have crossed last year’s procurement level of 26.2 million metric tons, the government said on Friday.
State-run agencies have so far bought 26.25 million tons of new-season wheat from domestic farmers to shore up depleted reserves, the government said in a statement.
