India plans to extend duty-free pea imports for two months

India may extend duty-free import of yellow peas into the country for two more months – January and February 2025.
This decision will be aimed at ensuring price stability of pulses in the Indian market and also to address the shortage of tur (pigeon pea) and chana (gram).
An official announcement in this regard is expected soon as duty free import of yellow peas into India is now allowed till the end of December.
