Impact of the war in Iran on agricultural export flows from Ukraine remains limited for now
The impact of the war in Iran on the export flows of agricultural products from Ukraine remains limited at the moment. This was stated by the grain market analyst, UkrAgroConsult, Maksym Kharchenko.
According to him, the volumes of grain and processed products that Ukraine supplies to the markets of the Middle East are usually not transported through the Persian Gulf, so there is currently no direct logistical impact on Ukrainian grain exports.
In addition, Iran, which was supposed to import about 10 million tons of corn in the current marketing year, practically completed its import campaign before the start of hostilities.
“The main suppliers to this market were Brazil and Russia. Given this, we do not expect significant pressure on corn prices either in Ukraine or on the world market due to a possible restriction on supplies to Iran,” said Maksym Kharchenko.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
