IGC raises global grain production forecast for 2025/26

The International Grains Council (IGC) has raised its forecast for world grain production in the current season by 1 million tons to a record 2,376 million tons. Last season, 2,316 million tons of grain were harvested worldwide.
The forecast for world grain consumption has been raised by 3 million tons to 2,376 million tons (2,340 million tons last season), which is also a record.
The world trade estimate has not changed compared to last month – 430 (423) million tons. The increase in world trade activity compared to last season will be affected by an increase in supplies to Asia.
By the end of the current season, there will be 582 million tons of grain left in the world, which is 4 million tons less than the June forecast, but 1 million tons more than last season.
