Global soybean harvest next season to exceed 2025/26 record
The global soybean harvest next season is expected to reach 441.2 million tonnes, 12 million tonnes higher than the record 429.2 million tonnes in 2025/26, according to analysts at Oil World (Germany).
In particular, production in the US could increase to 121 million tonnes, compared to 115.99 million tonnes in 2025/26. High harvests are also expected in China – 21.2 million tonnes (21.0 million tonnes), India – 10.2 million tonnes (9.2 million tonnes), and Ukraine – 5.63 million tonnes (5.5 million tonnes).
However, weather conditions could alter this estimate. Furthermore, the sowing season in South America has not yet begun and will not begin until late September, while in Argentina, it will not be completed until December.
A bumper soybean harvest is expected to boost oilseed crushing volumes for the fourth consecutive year, reaching 382 million tonnes in 2026/27, compared to 372.33 million tonnes expected in 2025/26. According to preliminary forecasts, soybean crushing in the United States will increase by 2.5 million tonnes in 2026/27, following a strong increase of approximately 5.5 million tonnes in 2025/26. Significant growth is also forecast in Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay, totaling approximately 4.7 million tonnes.
Meanwhile, soybean crushing in the European Union is expected to decline to 14.4 million tonnes or lower, which could be the lowest level in three years. One of the reasons cited is the reorientation of capacity toward processing larger rapeseed and sunflower harvests.
