Global soybean exports increased by 18% since the beginning of the year
In January-February 2026, global soybean exports exceeded expectations and amounted to 22.6 million tonnes, 18% higher than the same period last year, according to Oil World (Germany).
In particular, since the beginning of the year, the United States has exported 10 million tonnes of the oilseed (+1.7 million tonnes compared to January-February 2025), Brazil – 9 million tonnes (+1.5 million tonnes), and Paraguay – 1.8 million tonnes (+0.3 million tonnes).
China remained the key global soybean importer, increasing purchases by 32% to 12.3 million tonnes compared to 9.31 million tonnes in January-February last year. The country’s robust demand is driven by the growth of domestic oilseed processing. The country purchased 61.4% of global soybean exports, compared to 59.4% the year before.
Over the past 12 months, exports to China reached a new maximum of 113 million tons (102.6 million tons in March-February MY 2024/25).
