Georgia increased imports of wheat from Russia by perhaps a third

Georgia increased its wheat imports from Russia by almost a third in the first half of the year, reaching $42 million.

From January to June, wheat imports from Russia totaled $41.8 million, compared to $32.3 million in the first half of 2025. This represents a 29.8% year-on-year increase.

At the same time, Georgia halved its purchases of Russian corn in the first half of the year, to $4.6 million from $9.1 million in January to June 2025.
