Georgia increased imports of Russian grain in 2025

Georgia’s imports of wheat and meslin from Russia increased by 35.1% in 2025 compared to 2024, according to data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Georgia).

Russia remains Georgia’s largest grain supplier. According to statistics, over 405,000 tons of wheat and meslin worth $102.3 million were imported from Russia from January to December 2025.

These figures reached a four-year high: in 2021, imports totaled $87.4 million.

Overall, in recent years, Russia has been Georgia’s main supplier of wheat and flour, boasting advantages in quality, price, and delivery times. Russia accounts for approximately 99% of all imports.

In addition, small quantities of grain are imported from Kazakhstan, Belarus, Greece, and Romania.
