France has revised its estimates for the gross grain harvest
The French Ministry of Agriculture has raised its grain corn production forecast for this year from 13.6 million to 13.7 million tons. The harvest will be 7.6% smaller than last year, as corn crops were severely damaged by abnormal heat and drought during the summer months.
The soft wheat production estimate, which has already been completed, has been lowered from 33.3 million to 33.2 million tons. However, the harvest will be 29.2% higher than the lean 2024 harvest and 4.3% higher than the five-year average.
The gross durum wheat harvest is estimated at 1.28 million tons, slightly above the September forecast of 1.26 million tons.
