Flour exports from Kazakhstan turned down again

Kazakhstan exported 93 KMT of flour in March, or 21% less than the month before and down 18% from March 2019, UkrAgroConsult reports.

In total, 895 KMT had been shipped abroad since the beginning of the season, or 27% less than in MY 2018/19.

This season, Kazakh flour exports go to just nine countries, but 99.7% of the shipments are absorbed by the five traditional buyers: Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and China.

Among major importers, only Tajikistan increased purchases (doubled from the same time last year).

Most of the other buyers reduced imports: Afghanistan – down 31%, Uzbekistan – down 29%, Turkmenistan – down 26%, China – down 58%.
