First ship of Argentine sunseed arrives in Bulgaria
The first vessel, m/v CRATER, carrying Argentine sunflower seeds has arrived at Varna-West port for unloading, reports Agroportal.bg. The ship delivered around 40,000 tons of the oilseed, and the next vessel is expected within the coming week. In total, 10 ships are scheduled to arrive, bringing approximately 400,000 tons of sunflower.
This initial import move is seen as an important signal for the market. “We tip our hats to the traders who made this first bold step, changing the market,” the publication notes.
The arrival of Argentine sunseed is expected to influence prices and provide additional supply for processing plants in the region.
