European Union stepping up rapeseed and rapeseed meal imports
The European Union imported 1.07 MMT of rapeseed in the first nine weeks of this season, or 2.3 times as much as a year earlier. Rapeseed meal imports were up 43% year-on-year, while those of rapeseed oil dropped by 6%, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Russia is the top rapeseed meal supplier of the EU (42.6% of total imports) and the second biggest exporter of rapeseed oil (31.6%). The segments of rapeseed and rapeseed oil deliveries to the European Union are led by Ukraine (82.1% and 52.3%, respectively).
