Soybean crush in the European Union is expected to remain broadly unchanged in the MY 2026/27 at around 14.9 mln tons, according to analysts at Oil World.

The limited growth in soybean processing is attributed to changes in the EU oilseed crushing mix, with processors increasingly focusing on rapeseed and sunflower seed. Analysts also do not expect a significant increase in soybean imports into the bloc.

European crushers are also expected to face additional pressure from growing global soybean meal supplies, which could weigh on crushing margins. High energy costs will remain another major factor limiting profitability across the EU processing sector.

EU soybean production is also forecast to remain largely unchanged. Oil World estimates the 2026/27 crop at about 2.86 mln tons harvested from 1.04 mln hectares.
