EU soybean acreage expected to expand substantially in the coming decade

Soybean planted area in the EU will increase to 1.3 Ml ha by 2030 against 1 Ml ha in 2019, according to the European Commission.
The reason is strengthening demand for soybean meal due to a rise in pork supplies from the European Union to China (2.7 MMT in 2019, 4 MMT by 2022, according to the European Commission’s forecasts).
As before, the main oilseed in the EU is rape, which is best suitable for crop rotation in EU countries and attractive as a non-GM ingredient in feed formulas, reports UkrAgroConsult.
