EU reduced oilseed processing volumes in February

The European Association of Vegetable Oil Producers (FEDIOL) has calculated that in February 2024, EU oil extraction plants processed about 3.285 million tons of oilseeds – this is 215 thousand tons below the level of the previous month, but 204 thousand tons more than in February 2023.
As for rapeseed, local enterprises in the period under review processed 1.738 million tons of this crop (-21 thousand tons against the level of January; +154 thousand tons against the same month last year).
Soybean processing volumes last month totaled 1.053 million tons, 117 thousand tons below the January value and 24 thousand tons below the February 2023 level.
Sunseed also recorded a decline. In February 2024, 494 thousand tons of sunflower seeds were delivered to processing plants for further processing – 77 thousand tons less than in January, but 74 thousand tons more than in February 2023.
