EU increased imports of oilseeds this season
From the beginning of the current season (July 1, 2024) to October 25, EU countries imported 3,782.0 thsd tons of soybeans, 1,754.4 thsd tons of rapeseed and 169.6 thsd tons of sunseed. Compared to the same period last season, imports of soybeans increased by 1%, rapeseed – by 5%, sunseed – by 52%.
Soybean supplies to the European Union come mainly from Brazil (2.268 mln tons) and the US (1.091 mln tons). The main suppliers of rapeseed are Ukraine (1.271 mln tons) and Australia (351.8 thsd tons). Sunflower is supplied from Moldova (86.7 thsd tons), Serbia (30.5 thsd tons) and other countries.
