EU has increased imports of oilseeds by 10%

Since the beginning of the current season in July 2024 to April 15, EU countries imported 1,686.5 thousand tons of oilseeds, which is 10% more than in the same period last season, the Zerno On-Line agency reports with reference to the European Commission.
Soybeans have been supplied to EU countries since the beginning of the season, 10 million 951 thousand tons, which is 8% more than a year earlier. Rapeseed – 5 million 344 thousand tons, which is 16% more than a year earlier. Sunflower supplies increased by 19% and amounted to 490 thousand tons. In total, 16 million 786 thousand tons of oilseeds were supplied to the EU market during the reporting period.
Soybeans are supplied to the European Union mainly from the USA (5,453.3 thousand tons) and Brazil (3,570.0 thousand tons). Rapeseed supplies come from Ukraine (2,340 thousand tons) and Australia (2,105.8 thousand tons). Sunflower is imported mainly from Moldova (282.5 thousand tons).
