50 billion euros for farmers and more: EU approves Ukraine Plan under the Ukraine Facility
EU ambassadors have agreed on a plan of reforms in Ukraine that must be implemented in order to receive assistance from the EU through 2027 under the Ukraine Facility, which provides for the allocation of 50 billion euros.
Earlier, EU High Representative Josep Borrell said that the key topic of discussion at the EU Council of Ministers should be the implementation of the plan for Ukraine’s recovery, which includes an agricultural component.
The Ukraine Facility program for farmers includes the following reforms:
- ensuring the functioning of the land market;
- improving the institutional and administrative structure for managing investment programs;
- improving the official public electronic register of agricultural enterprises;
- a long-term plan for the development of the irrigation complex to increase the sector’s resilience to climate change;
- land and water demining.
EU ambassadors agreed in principle on the Ukraine Plan, which outlines the country’s reforms to receive EU financial assistance until 2027 under the Ukraine Facility,” the Belgian presidency of the EU Council said on Wednesday.
