Despite the demarche of the Russia, Turkey will continue to implement the “grain agreement” – the Minister of Defense

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar emphasized that Ankara will continue to implement the Black Sea Grain Initiative in the same way as it did before Russia announced the suspension of participation in it.
Akar said this at a press conference on Tuesday.
“Immediately after signing the agreement, grain prices dropped significantly. We want it to continue. We, as Turkey, have fulfilled and will fulfill our obligations in this regard,” he said.
The head of the Turkish Defense Ministry reiterated that Ankara is conducting negotiations with the Ukrainian and Russian sides regarding the full restoration of the “grain agreement”.
“As of yesterday (Monday), the ships that left Ukrainian ports and are moving in the sea continue their journey. There are no problems with the departure of Turkish ships. They will continue to leave,” he clarified.
It will be recalled that after the attack on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet in occupied Sevastopol, Russia announced the suspension of its participation in the grain initiative. After that, the UN said that the agreement still remains valid and the organization’s inspectors will continue to inspect the ships.
As the EP wrote in its article, the “grain agreement” can work even without the participation of the Russian side, if it is the will of Turkish President Erdogan, and the implementation of this scenario has already begun, and Putin already the next day began to hint that the Russian Federation is ready to return to the agreement.
