Dacsa and Bunge started starch plant construction in Vinnytsya region
A joint venture of Dacsa Group and Bunge Limited, Dacsa Bunge Ukraine, started the construction works of a corn mill in Vinnytsya region.
The new mill, expected to be operational in 2020 before the harvesting campaign starts, will have the daily production capacity of 300 tons of corn grits and flours. The facility will occupy 0.3 thou. hectares.
In addition to the construction of the mill, the management plans to reconstruct the already existing three grain storages.
“The problems that threatened our project are no more. Besides, we have experience in implementing similar and larger-scale projects in other regions of Ukraine,” said Dmitry Gorshunov, the director of Suntrade (a subsidiary of the agro-industrial company Bunge-Ukraine).
Bunge will originate corn for the joint venture, and approximately 80% of the mill’s output is expected to be sold for export. The mill will also supply brewery grits to large international brewers with Ukrainian presence.
The total investment amounts to USD 14 million.
