Corn sowing is nearing completion in France
According to the state agency FranceAgriMer, by May 19, 95% of the planned area of corn had been sown in France. The sowing rate is ahead of the average and last year.
The condition of corn crops is better than last year. The share of crops in good and very good condition as of May 19 is 87% (83% on the same date last year).
The condition of wheat and barley crops is also better now than last year. The share of winter soft wheat crops in good and very good condition is 71% (63%), winter durum wheat – 77% (64%), spring barley – 75% (73%), winter barley – 66% (66%).
