Corn sowing in France is proceeding at a rapid pace
According to the state agency FranceAgriMer, as of April 21, corn sowing in France has been completed on half of the planned area. The sowing rate is ahead of average. On the same date, on average over the past five years, 42% of the area was sown, last year – 24%.
The condition of wheat and barley crops is better than last year. The share of winter soft wheat crops in good and very good condition is 74%, which is more than on the same date last year (63%), but less than in 2021-2023.
76% of winter durum wheat crops are now in good and very good condition (67% a year earlier), 70% (66%) of winter barley crops and 845 (73%) of spring barley crops.
