Corn sowing has started in Ukraine
As of April 13, 927 thousand hectares of grain and pulses crops were sown in Ukraine. This is 17% of the projected area. This is evidenced by data from the Ministry of Economy.
In particular, spring wheat was sown on 128.5 thousand hectares (69%), spring barley – 528.7 thousand hectares (70%), peas – 209.8 thousand hectares (76%) and oats – 100.3 thousand hectares (73%).
In addition, farmers have started sowing corn, so far only 0.1 thousand hectares have been sown. Currently, sowing is ongoing only in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
In parallel, farmers continue to sow industrial crops. Sugar beets were sown on 68.6 thousand hectares (35%), sunflowers on 58.1 thousand hectares (1%). Soybeans were sown on 0.05 thousand hectares.
