Corn prices on the western border of Ukraine rose to $234/t
In the first half of July, Ukraine exported 898 thousand tons of corn. This is reported by analysts at Spike Brokers.
The largest deliveries were sent to Turkey, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Egypt.
At the same time, the physical market has divided into two separate directions: in the ports, purchasing activity has practically stopped, which caused prices to decrease to nominal levels of $ 208 CPT Odesa, while the western border continues to concentrate additional demand for alternative logistics, where corn prices have increased to $ 234 FCA Chop.
The land export alternative has a limited export capacity – 1-1.2 million tons per month against the required 5-6 million tons given the overall export potential of the agricultural sector.
