Condition of soybeans and wheat has worsened in the US
Last week, the condition of soybean and spring wheat crops in the United States worsened, according to the Zerno On-Line agency.
According to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), as of July 5, the share of soybean crops in excellent or good condition decreased from 65% to 64%, while wheat crops fell from 59% to 57%. A year ago, 66% of soybean crops and 50% of wheat crops were in excellent or good condition.
The share of corn crops in excellent or good condition remains at 67%, down from 74% a year ago.
Winter wheat harvesting continues to be ahead of average. By July 5, threshing was complete on 59% of the acreage (51% on the same date last year and the average over the past five years).
