CMA CGM launches multimodal solutions to bypass the Strait of Hormuz
The transport and logistics company CMA CGM offers multimodal solutions to maintain supplies to the UAE and the countries of the northern Persian Gulf against the background of security risks in the region. This is reported by the Association of International Forwarders of Ukraine.
CMA CGM uses a combination of sea, road and rail transportation. The new routes cover Iraq, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
“The main alternative entry points are Khor Fakkan, Fujairah, Sohar, as well as Jeddah. Further cargo is delivered by land and via feeder networks to support the continuity of the supply chain. Routes through Oman and Saudi Arabia (Jeddah–Dammam corridor) are also involved,” the post notes.
It is added that the routes may change quickly depending on the situation in the region.
