China’s soybean oil exports have more than tripled
In October-December 2025, China contracted to export up to 200,000 tons of soybean oil, compared to only 61,000 tons in the same period last year, according to analysts from Oil World (Germany).
In October, the country exported 71,000 tons of the product, more than half of which—46,000 tons—went to India. Shipments to India are planned to continue until the end of this year, the agency notes.
Including contracted export volumes from China, soybean oil exports in 2025 could reach 450,000 tons, 12,000 tons more than the previous year.
It was previously reported that China has transformed from a buyer to a supplier of soybean oil. Meanwhile, imports to India have reached a three-year high. Its import in the new season is expected to exceed last year’s record of 5.47 million tons.
