China’s slaughtered pigs up 0.8% y/y in Jan-May

The number of pigs slaughtered in China by pig enterprises rose 0.8% in January through May from the same period a year earlier to 136.04 million, informed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
China’s sow herd stood at 39.96 million head at the end of May, down 6.2% from a year earlier, the data showed.
