China remains the main importer of Ukrainian sunflower meal
In May, sunflower meal exports amounted to 119,069 tons. This was reported by the press service of the South-Eastern MSU of the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection.
According to the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection, the main importer of the Ukrainian product remains China, where the vast majority of export consignments were sent. In addition, almost 23 tons of sunflower meal were exported to Finland.
Meal is one of the key products of sunflower seed processing and is widely used in the production of compound feed for farm animals and poultry. Due to its high protein content, Ukrainian meal is in stable demand on international markets.
During the registration of export cargo, the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection specialists check the compliance of products with the veterinary, sanitary and phytosanitary requirements of importing countries, monitor the correctness of the registration of accompanying documents and ensure compliance with international product safety requirements.
