China is in no hurry to buy Ukrainian corn
Ukraine exported more than 4.5 mln tonnes of corn in July-October of 2024/25 MY.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Grain Association on Facebook.
It is noted that traditionally European countries are the main consumers of Ukrainian corn. In particular, in October, the Netherlands purchased 670 thsd tonnes of corn from Ukraine, Spain – 645 thsd tonnes, Italy – 630 thsd tonnes. At the same time, Turkey imported 537 thsd tonnes of the grain, and Libya – 352 thsd tonnes.
“Another major traditional importer – China – is not in a hurry to buy Ukrainian corn yet,” the UGA noted.
In October, according to the association, China purchased only 14 thsd tonnes of corn from Ukraine.
