China considerably increased purchases of Ukrainian corn starch
This season, Ukrainian corn starch is exported to 63 countries of the world, including 16 member states of the EU. Exports in September-July totaled 72.1 KMT (down 17% y-o-y), UkrAgroConsult reports.
4.3 KMT of corn starch was exported in July (down 36% from June, down 42% from July 2019/20).
Indonesia has been the biggest consumer for at least seven consecutive years. Besides, the top three includes the EU and China. China has already purchased twice as much as in the entire last season.
In addition, this season witnesses a rise in purchases by the following importers: the EU (+23%), Thailand (+41%).
Some traditional buyers reduced purchases from last season: Indonesia (-32%), the UAE (-68%), Malaysia (-21%) and Taiwan (-60%).
Senegal became a major importer after the first eleven months of the season. No deliveries had been made to this country before the current season.
