Canada to provide additional grain storage bags to support Ukraine’s harvest

Ukraine and Canada have discussed support measures for farmers affected by Russian attacks on port infrastructure. The discussions took place during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Denys Bashlyk and representatives of the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

According to Bashlyk, attacks on the Greater Odesa ports have disrupted agricultural exports, increased pressure on logistics and created additional demand for storage capacity for the new harvest.

During the meeting, the parties discussed how Canada could further support Ukrainian farmers. The talks focused on supplying additional grain storage bags for temporary grain storage, providing technical assistance, and implementing joint projects in agricultural logistics and processing.

The Canadian side confirmed its readiness to provide Ukraine with additional grain storage bags. The participants also agreed to accelerate procurement and delivery procedures to ensure the equipment reaches Ukrainian farmers as quickly as possible.

“Today, the speed of decision-making is crucial for Ukrainian agricultural producers. Every step that helps ensure timely grain storage and supports exports strengthens the resilience of the agricultural sector,” Bashlyk said.
