Canada remains a leading global supplier of cereals
Canada continues to strengthen its position in global grain markets, remaining one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-quality wheat, durum, oats, and barley. This is highlighted in the latest annual report from Cereals Canada, which reviewed the organization’s achievements in market development, technical support, and industry advocacy.
According to the report, Canadian cereals were exported to more than 80 countries, with annual export values reaching approximately US$12.8 billion. These figures reflect the strong confidence of international buyers in the quality and reliability of Canadian grain products.
Throughout the year, Cereals Canada worked closely with customers around the world by providing technical support, conducting crop quality assessments, and implementing quality assurance programs. These efforts helped ensure that Canadian grain continued to meet the requirements of diverse markets and deliver value across the supply chain.
Cereals Canada Chair Brett Halstead said the success of the country’s cereals sector is driven by the combined efforts of farmers, exporters, processors, researchers, life science companies, and other industry partners that continue to invest in innovation and market development.
The report also highlighted the organization’s work to protect market access and expand trade opportunities.
