Bunge expands lecithin portfolio after acquiring IFF’s soy business
Bunge has completed the acquisition of the soy protein concentrate, lecithin and soy processing businesses of International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), Inc. The company’s press service announced this on March 2, 2026.
The deal is consistent with Bunge’s strategy to expand its ingredient portfolio and offer customers a broader range of products.
The acquired business includes IFF’s Response, Alpha, Procon and Solec brands. They will complement Bunge’s existing protein portfolio and expand its line of textured, functional and powdered soy protein concentrates used in the production of high-protein products, including baked goods, snacks, meat products and plant-based meat alternatives.
The deal also strengthens the company’s lecithin portfolio. It now includes a broader line of liquid, powder and fractionated soy, sunflower and canola lecithins used to optimize production and improve the texture of confectionery, bakery and other food products.
“We are pleased to integrate IFF’s soy protein concentrate, lecithin and soy processing businesses and welcome our new colleagues to Bunge,” said Brian Douville, Bunge’s vice president of emulsifiers and proteins.
He said the deal strengthens the company’s position as a partner for food and beverage manufacturers, offering a broad and reliable range of ingredient solutions and supporting the sustainability of global supply chains.
