Bulgaria harvests over 5.8 mln t of wheat by mid-July
Bulgaria has harvested over 5.77 million tonnes of wheat and over 1.05 million tonnes of barley, deputy agriculture minister Yanislav Yanchev said.
The country has harvested 78% of its wheat area and 95% of its barley area, Yanchev said in a press release on Tuesday.
Average wheat yield stands at 5.86 tonnes per hectare.
As much as 79% of the fields under rapeseed have also been harvested, as production totals 224,000 tonnes.
In 2024, Bulgaria expected to harvest between 6.1 and 6.3 million tonnes of wheat and over 800,000 tonnes of barley.
