Brazilian COFCO has supplied soybeans to Bangladesh for the first time
Brazilian grain supplier Cofco International announced the sale of its first shipment of soybeans to Bangladesh as part of its strategy to expand its presence in the Asian market.
The buyer, Bangladeshi company Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), purchased 40,000 tons of soybeans for use in animal feed production for both the domestic market and exports.
Cofco previously supplied certified soybeans to China and Southeast Asia. Entering the Bangladesh market marks another step in strengthening the company’s position in South Asia.
The company notes that it is increasing the volume of certified products in response to growing demand in Asian countries. The company plans to expand its certification programs for sustainably produced soybeans and corn in South America in the near future.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
